France officially the French Republic is a country located in Western Europe, and which is further made up of a collection of overseas islands and territories located in other continents. France is bordered by Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, Andorra, and Spain. France is also linked to the United Kingdom via the Channel Tunnel, which passes underneath the English Channel. France possesses a wide variety of landscapes, from coastal plains in the north and west to mountain ranges in the south-east (the Alps) and the south-west (the Pyrenees). The French Alps contain the highest point in Western Europe, Mont Blanc at 4810 m. There are several other elevated regions such as the Massif Central, the Jura, the Vosges, and the Ardennes which are quite rocky and forested. France also has extensive river systems such as the Loire, the Rh™ne, the Garonne and the Seine. French cuisine is characterized by its extreme diversity. French cuisine is considered to be one of the world's most refined and elegant styles of cooking, and is renowned for both its classical and provincial styles. Famous French foods include French breads, Blanquette de veau, Boeuf a la mode, Coq au Vin (rooster simmered in wine),Cheeses, Lamb Navarin, Oysters are generally eaten raw; cooking oysters is uncommon. La Rochelle is a town in western France, and a seaport on the Atlantic Ocean. It is the capitalof the Charente-Maritime. The city is connected to the ėle de Rˇ (island) by a bridge, completed in 1988. Its harbour opens into a protected strait, the Pertuis d'Antioche.

The city has beautifully maintained its past architecture, making it one of the most picturesque and historically rich cities on the Atlantic coast. This helped develop a strong tourism industry. La Rochelle possesses a commercial harbour in deep water. The large submarine bunker built during WWII still stands there, although it is not being used. One of the biggest music festivals in France, "FrancoFolies," takes place each summer in La Rochelle, where Francophone musicians come together for a week of concerts and celebration. La Rochelle is the setting for the best-selling series of French language textbooks in the UK, titled Tricolore. The central character, Martine Domme, lives with her family at the fictional address of 12, Rue de la Rˇpublique.
The airport and the city centre are clearly signposted on the N237, the La Rochelle ring road. The airport facilities include Telphones, Bar, Restaurant, Toilets and Disabled Facilities.
The Address of the airport is La Rochelle Airport, Rue du Jura F-17000 La Rochelle France and the airport code is LRH
