M‰con is a town and the capital of the Sa™ne-et-Loire county in the Bourgogne rˇgion. M‰con is located on the Sa™ne river, north of Lyon. M‰con was acquired by the French Crown in 1238, passed to Burgundy by the Treaty of Arras in 1435 and was recovered by France in 1477. M‰con was a Huguenot stronghold in the 16th century.
